Brassus, October 2023 – Swiss high-end watchmaking brand Audemars Piguet once again shows new creativity in the CODE 11.59 series, launching a new masterpiece with a 38 mm diameter design. The new watch combines extraordinary creativity and watchmaking skills. The Audemars Piguet R&D team has reimagined the size and proportions of this unique three-layer case design to ensure that it fits slender wrists while presenting two beautifully matched purple or A new 18K rose gold self-winding watch with an ivory embossed dial and a tone-on-tone alligator leather strap. This is after the launch of the CODE 11.59 series Universelle grand complication watch (RD#4) and stainless steel works, Audemars Piguet once again shows its endless creativity in the CODE 11.59 series.
The new 38 mm diameter CODE 11.59 series automatic watch provides an optimal fit for slender wrists. This new diameter design adds more options to the CODE 11.59 series and is used for the first time in two new 18K rose gold watches. Although the size is more compact, the two watches still continue the aesthetic essence of the Audemars Piguet CODE 11.59 series. The case of the watch consists of an ultra-thin bezel, a round bottom and an octagonal case middle embedded in it. The lugs have a unique shape, the top is welded and fixed to the bezel, and the lower edge cleverly fits the bottom of the watch. The modern case adopts the same exquisite finishing treatment as the brand’s in-house movement, showing an alternating light and shadow effect of satin brushing and polished chamfering, highlighting the multi-faceted structure of the case. Continuing the new detailed design introduced in this series earlier this year, the crown groove is shallower but more eye-catching, further highlighting the complex beauty of the case geometry.
Two 18K rose gold watches form an elegant contrast. One watch has a vivid purple dial with a strap of the same color, while the other chooses a more restrained but shimmering ivory tone. Both watches adopt the new dial design of the CODE 11.59 series. The relief pattern presents a striking gradient structure, which was developed by Audemars Piguet in collaboration with Swiss machine-engraving master Yann von Kaenel. Hundreds of tiny grooves on the dial create a cascading wave shape that spreads out from the center, creating a unique glossy effect. The purple and ivory tones of the two dials are produced through the physical vapor deposition (PVD) process, which highlights the depth of the relief pattern and sets off the rich changes of light and shadow. The new hour markers and hands are faceted and polished to contrast with the dial pattern. In addition, the hands are covered with a fluorescent coating, making it easy to read in the dark. Each watch is equipped with a large checkered alligator leather strap of the same color as the dial, and is equipped with the series’ new 18K rose gold pin buckle, which is engraved with the words “AUDEMARS PIGUET”. In addition, Audemars Piguet boutiques will also launch ivory and purple rubber-covered straps with calfskin lining and textured patterns.
These two new modern watches are equipped with Audemars Piguet‘s latest generation self-winding movement Caliber 5900 with hours, minutes, seconds and date display. The Caliber 5900 movement will debut in some 37 mm Royal Oak series models in 2022. The thickness of the movement is only 4 mm, the frequency is 4 Hz, and it has a 60-hour power reserve. Through the sapphire crystal glass back, you can clearly see the exquisite mechanical structure of the movement and the exquisite details on the components, such as 22K rose gold oscillating weight, polished corners, vertical satin brushing, Côtes de Genève, pearl dots and finely polished Chamfer etc.
